Not meeting at CPAC isn't a major thing on paper, still it could be seen as a snub and from Palin that's a bad idea. She's got more enemies then friends in the upper ranks right now and she plays horribly with independents who you frankly need to win a national position. You can get away with just getting base votes for Governor in a deeply red/blue state or even running for Congress in a safe district but President? You better appeal to someone outside of the old delusional screamer crowd.

BADLY!Potential Republican runners for US president in 2012 are gathering at the CPAC summit of conservatives, amid a row over former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's non-attendance at the event.
No major Republican has announced for 2012, but CPAC is seen as a chance to test their prospects.
One possible candidate, Michele Bachmann, opened CPAC telling delegates "you've already changed America".
Meanwhile, ex-senator Rick Santorum and Sarah Palin have exchanged barbs.
Mr Santorum suggested that Ms Palin was skipping the conference because she wouldn't be getting paid.
But speaking on Fox News on Wednesday night, Ms Palin suggested Mr Santorum was "uninformed" and a "knuckle dragging Neanderthal".
A scheduling conflict prevented her from attending, she said.
Straw poll
The Conservative Political Action Conference, which runs until Saturday in Washington DC, is billed as the largest gathering of conservatives in the US.
The gathering concludes with the release of a straw poll of potential presidential candidates.
Correspondents say that while interest will be paid to this, the results are likely to have little bearing on the contest for the Republican nomination when it heats up.
In her opening address, Ms Bachmann, a prominent Tea Party member, told delegates their mission was to defeat President Barack Obama in 2012.
Others at the conference include Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, former House speaker Newt Gingrich, former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour and Mr Santorum.
Delegates will have the opportunity to attend seminars ranging from ways to break into the film industry to Tea Party study sessions as well as a range of speeches by notable Republican lawmakers.
Former US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who is scheduled to receive the CPAC Defender of the Constitution Award, will sign copies of his newly released book at the conference.
