For some of us here, it has been a trying year. For others, it has at least been quite eventful.

I am grateful for the memories, and friends I've made while here, and now consider them (and probably you) to be true friends. I'm grateful for the conversations (and arguments) about writing, politics, science, and many other subjects besides.

I wish all of you blessings of good memories and good times with you and yours.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I'm sorry over the years I've let friendships with all of you wither, and my presence both here and online in general has waned away to little.

I hope you all had a very great day - whether you celebrated the holiday state side - or those to whom it was just another day abroad.

For my part, thank you.

In my mind, today (in the US at least), is the day when you're supposed to remember your blessings, and to be grateful for them. You and I may have argued vociferously in the past, but that doesn't mean I don't value you as a person to speak with. I am grateful for our discussions as well.

Buddy I've vociferously argued with pretty much everybody on this board at some time or other. And that includes Josh, Dass , Her Ladyship and Lin.
The 'in the US at least' was the point of the 'anyone who cares' qualifier. Outside the US, it was just another Thursday. Valen knows the rest of humanity has a lot to be thankful for too (I know I do, like you people tolerating me for instance) but the 'be thankful on this exact day' seems to be mostly US.

Hilarious, but yes. I'd certainly agree that such consideration of one's blessings should be done much more often, but at the very least, today is a good day to pause away from the frenetic and chaotic nature of life and it's travails, and remember the good things, even if I've forgotten and neglected to do so in all the months prior.

It was a good thanksgiving. For me at least, for others not so much.

I am very thankful for my friends. Without them and my family, I would be in a very horrible place right now.

In this past year, there has been a loss nearly every month, and I have joined a circle of bereaved, each of us trying to support the others. We've become widows, and this has drawn our friendship closer than ever because of that sad bond.
Also in this past year, I have lost the job of 14yrs, and I have never felt so useless and do-less. My days are filled with nothing, I have no visitors unles they want something from me. I've ignored my best friend of 25yrs because I got sick of her drama, even before she started dating my ex-husband. Then, she wondered why I stopped wanting to see her.
I've thought about going back into the mental ward, and the only thing that has stopped me is the cats. Who'd care for them?

But, I still have friends. Y'all are just too far away for me to hug.
