You could, you know, ask :) That is the best way to tell.
All women are actresses in one fashion or another.

Does she like to pick on you? Does she watch you from across the room then look away? Does she listen intently to every word you say even if she has NO IDEA what it is you're talking about? Does she act differently around you vs around a whole group of people? Has she started wearing makeup one days you see her? Does she play with her hair a lot when you talk to her? Does she fidget lots? Does she pay attention to you as if everything you do is going to cause soemthing important to happen?
Needless to say... the list goes on and on and on... In my case if i want to beat ya up... at least to some degree you're in the green. Doesn't mean that i'll always wanna pummel ya, but is a good place to start*shrug*

Oh good, so it's not just me who does that. For some reason, I tend to demonstrate my affection to people by means of a torrent of verbal abuse. Go figure.
Either that or I clam up completely and avoid talking to them, lest I give away any indication of how I feel and expose myself to the possibilty of becoming the subject of a humiliating rejection.
As you can probably guess from this, my love life sucks.

And she still doesn't believe me!
*sighs and throws up his hands*
Hmmm, well if she starts being overly flirty with you, really pallsy(I.E. hanging around alot), overly affectionate, or in some cases as has been pointed out, overly abussive where she wasn't before and you don't recall having made some remark or joke to warrent such assaults...

simple
hit her over the head with something hefty, a 2x4 or cinderblock
takeher back to your cave or place of residence, then she won't have much of a choice in liking you o not.

Either that, or you have
really pissed her off without knowing it.
Note: I have actually had a few people mistake my seriously doing my block at them for good-natured banter. However these incidents can probably be dismissed on the basis that both occured online and in once case the person in question was exceptionally thick.

Keep it on-topic, people. I'd hate to have to whine to FM to split this.

If she looks at you and smiles, that's a good sign. If you actually talk to her and she responds to your overtures, that's also a good sign. Of course if she 'likes' you is nothing compared to if she loves you, and love only happens if you have the balls to make a move. 'Make a move' can mean anything, to asking her out on a date to pinching her on the arse... while on a date. To kissing her on the cheek, on the lips, elsewhere... Touchy-feely stuff is a good sign. Cuddling and so forth, holding hands etc. If she doesn't want you to touch her she'll let you know, and if you're not clueless the signs are obvious. But if she
wants you to touch her then fun stuff can happen.
And uh, it is best to ask her out on a date, then do the touchy-feely stuff.
The other 'L word' is lust... when you're a little older we'll talk about it.

Generally if she appears to make all of her time available...or mostly available whenever you think of a day/time/place to meet her...she will generally do her very best to be there...and early.
She might be really quiet when it's just the two of you, but talk to you a little more infront of friends due to shyness.
Touchy-Feely is soo totally a big one. This includes but is not limited to:
Tickling, Poking, Playing with hair (her's or yours), rubbing various parts of the body (i.e. Arms, back), bumping into you (may seem unintentional but it most likely is planned) ect. ect.
And you could just always ask...if she blushes and gets really quiet...or denies it very quickly...she like you.
That's about all i can think of...

Some experiments, if you're bold enough.....
Make yourself a really, really asshole for some period, then try your best to observe her reactions (without her notice, of course). Mind you, she doesn't have to be the target of your assholery; as long as she's aware that you're an asshole.
(1) If she merely shrugs, then though.
(2) If she shows her concerns, at least to some degree, then she actually likes you.
(3) If your assholery *really* breaks her, then she's deeply in love with you. Based on my experience, if a woman says "i love you, but you just broke my heart", she really means it.
Well I learned those things hard way (when discovering the woman I love actually fell in love with other guy).

If she wants, and isn't playing hard to get.. she'll talk to you over other guys. she'll laugh at your jokes, and she'll probably go for physical contact regularly.
its not really an easy thing to work out.. every girl seems different in my experience.
