We all remember (even if we don't want to in some cases) the last two Matrix films. While working last night an amusing thought came to me regarding those films, what if a certain holocaust survivior with a marked preference for red and purple was plunked down there right when the machine attack broke through?
"You dare send metal machines against... THE MASTER OF MAGNETISM!?!"
Who needs Neo?
We don't need no stinkin Neo!

Hmm...interesting idea. Particularily given I think Magneto is one of the more interesting characters of X-Men.
Given his abilities displayed in the movies, I'd say he'd be able to certainly put a few machines out of wack. But that's a far cry from him winning the war...his abilities are not limitless after all.

Screw the Movie Magneto, I speak of the True Lord of Genosha, the creator of Astaroid M and the Red Skull's deepest fear!

This coming from the orginal Borg Wanker?
Besides the comics came first and it's my damn thread. We're using comic Magneto.

I
was joking, Frigid.

I'm not disputing this is your thread or the rules by which you want it discussed, Frigid. Ease up guy. :?
For future reference though, it might help to be more specific about which incarnation of characters you want dicussed. I can't be the only one who thought the movie version of Magneto, particularily given your OP stated Matrix
movies. I know nothing about the comic version of Magneto.

Magneto would no doubt decimate the Machine forces if we're using comic continuity Magneto. I mean he crafted Asteroid M, he's capable of pulling adamantium through pores in the skin, I mean the man is great. Plus think about it, you've got someone who is in essence a giant freaking magnet, what is that going to do to an electronic entity. Now think back to what happens if you put a strong magnet on a hard drive... Yes kiddies, thats right, you lose your data. Now someone like Magneto who can alter the magnetic flucuations of the entire planet is going to kill some serious data. In the process he'd probably end up destroying the matrix and killing 97% of humanity. But them's the breaks.

Comic book Magneto can reverse the magnetic poles of the planet. (cant remmember if he needs kick for that)
He would probably reprogram the sentinels ala Sentinels (In the ultimate x-men comic)

Movie Magneto would rip the Sentinels a new one. What comics Magneto would do to machinekind doesn't bear thinking about. If there were such a thing as overkill, this would be it.

Oh, I thought you meant Zion as in Utah. My bad.
And I thoroughly agree on the topic of 'overkill.'
