Man, this shit is weird.“I’ll tell you guys one thing: take me seriously.” That was Dennis Rodman’s gloriously ironic closing remark during a press conference he held on Monday in New York City to announce that he would be training the North Korean national basketball team for the 2016 Olympics. The former NBA star visited Pyongyang for the second time in six months last week and again met with Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, whom he calls his “friend for life.”
Rodman also declared that he and other former NBA players would travel to North Korea to participate in a basketball tournament in honor of Jong Un’s birthday in January. He hopes that “basketball diplomacy” will help to bridge the gap between the secretive nation and the western world. Paddy Power, an Irish bookmaking firm, sponsored Rodman’s trip to Pyongyang and arranged Monday’s press conference.
On Sunday, Rodman made headlines around the world when he revealed that Jong Un has a daughter whose name is Ju-ae, and stated that the North Korean leader is “a good dad.”

Rodman's pretty much a crazy screwball that should never be taken seriously. Among other things he's a compulsive attention seeker and this bullshit has gotten him a few more headlines.

He's the new Hanoi Jane.
Other than the tidbits he brings back about Jong Un's secret life, Rod's a waste.

In all fairness, there is not a state of war between North Korea and the United States. Rodman is not guilty of treason. He is guilty of alot of things. Foremost being bad taste but anyone whose seen him in the last 20 years should already have been aware of that. Sadly his bad taste extends to his friends.

Um, Frigid? Not to be pedantic, but the war isn't technically over...

As far as most people are concerned, an armistice does mean the war is over. That's why everyone says the First World War ended on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, of 1918 when the Armistice went into effect. Not 28 June 1919 when the Treaty of Versailles was signed. It is, however, true that an armistice is not a legal end of the war, and hostilities can be resumed by either party without either being deemed an illegal aggressor provided that they give advance notice of their intention to do so. Which means that if either North or South Korea feels ready to rumble, they can legally do so. A state of war does not, however, exist between the United States and North Korea by virtue of the fact that Congress never formally declared war on North Korea. In that situation a cease-fire is considered a formal end to hostilities. The First Gulf War also ended that way.
