Kelran raised his normal hand. "Got it covered." He said. He was dressed in simple black slacks with yellow piping on the sides, white dress shirt, and black suit jacket. He looked over at Trys. "Looking nice, Trys." He said hitting the button for the ramp and leading the other two out of the ship and too the waiting cab.

Trys' eyes were drawn down to the stripe on Kelran's slacks. All Corellians know that stripe, and what the colors mean. She waited until they were inside the cab and on their way to the SilverSpire before she asked the question. "They gave you The Stripe ... for the mission where you lost your arm?"

Zyke squeezed Trys's hand, albeit a little late to keep her from asking the question. He knew that sometimes those sorts of questions were best left unasked, and often went unanswered anyway. Most soldiers didn't like repeating the things they saw in war, he imagined that the same was true of police officers in the line of duty.

He settled into his seat, looking out the window, nodding. "Stripe, Second Class." He said, looking down at his arm, flexing the fingers.

The Stripe meant that at some point she could call up the archives and see why it was given to him. For now, she reached across the seat to give Kelran's leg a squeeze. "And they still only gave you enough money for a lousy G-Type," she teased, a brush of humor to chase away the sudden solemness, even as Kelran could see she was proud of him.

Kelran looked up from his fake arm at her and gave her a soft smile. "Yeah, lucky me." He said, before looking back out the windows. "So, either of you been to Silverspire before?"

"I usually don't go for fancy places, to be honest, but Trys says we have to provide a presentable face, and as refined as Dewaddik is, seems most people don't appreciate his company. Marcus wasn't much help there either, so the duty falls to me. Oh, the burden I bear." He smirks, knowing he could get away with such mild teasing almost entirely because Trys wanted some discretion in the relationship. He fully expected retaliation later, but that he could handle...

"There's a reason why it's at the top of Coruscant's night-life," Trys answered Kelran wryly, before giving Zyke a slight nudge so he knew she would get him back for that later. Probably after he'd dropped her gown on the floor, but either way...
"Uncle's never took me there before, but he's told me about it. This is where the rich meet the powerful, and where more deals get done face to face than on the Senate floor." She looked at the two men, and sighed. "I might be under-dressed for this, while you two are merely 'subtle'." She again looked down to The Stripe, then up to Kelran. "If we weren't with Uncle, you'd find yourself very popular, I think."

Kel nodded. "I've been here twice. Both on business, so I didn't eat. Mainly, I just stood behind someone and looked tough. You're dressed fine."

"So this is where they decide who to go to war with. Good to know...." Zyke was only half joking. While he didn't regret serving, he knew all to well how ready politicians were to fight battles with the lives of others when it suited their purposes. "Still, should be a nice meal, though I suspect Trys's uncle wouldn't bring us anyplace this nice unless he had a large enough favor coming to help make the bill go down easier."

"Oh yes, he's definitely buttering me up for this one," Trys sighed, looking out the window at the skyscape. They would be at the SilverSpire soon. She shook her head. "Mother would have kits, seeing me here. It's what she wanted after all."

Kelran nodded in agreement. "Yep, Uncle's got something big." He said, and then chuckled. "Yeah, she wanted a perfect lady. Instead she got you." Kel teased.

"Well, if your mother wanted all of this for you, she must be a very interesting mother indeed. I can't wait to meet her one day." Zyke looked out the window as he made his comment, in part to hide the smile forming on his face, but mostly to keep from seeming too generally interested in meeting Trys's mother, making it seem more like an offhand remark at her expense. What better way to hide a truth than to wrap it in a lie, after all...

Turning away also let Zyke see Trys' reflection in the window of the aircar, and it was priceless. Her eyes widened, her face froze, and her whole body stiffened as Trys thought of the reaction her mother would have to Trys bringing home a Zabrak lover. Even worse, a 'mere pilot' and crewmate.
Trys' whole body shuddered as she pushed the thought away, trying to cover her momentary terror with another joke. "She tried to set me up with Kelran, remember?" Trys did love her mother, even if they didn't understand each other. "If she knew a way to marry me off to Uncle Nielus she would, for the prestige."

Kel chuckled. "Hey, I'm not that bad." He said then looked to Zyke. "But seriously, you don't want to meet her." Kel looked at Trys. "I mean, no offense, but your mother is a complete ditz/social climber. Then again, so is my mother."
Morpheus:I remember that I am here not because of the path that lies before me but because of the path that lies behind me.

"I've never understood social climbing. It seems like the more you do it, the less sociable you become. Guess it's a human thing." He smiled as his comment hit a perfect reaction. Eventually, he might meet her parents, but he doubted it would be any time soon. Her uncle would have to be enough, one day.

"You can meet my mother the day you life-bond me, or whatever Zabrak do," Trys muttered as the aircab came to a stop in front of the SilverSpire's massive entrance. "My father is far more relaxed about such things. But now, it's time to eat good food, drink good wine, and see why Uncle is buying us dinner at the most expensive place in the Galaxy."

Speaking of dinner...
Dewaddik finished the first bottle as he walked along the side rail of the rised "sidewalk," he wasn't sure what it was booze wise but he liked it. It had a smokey flavor and gave him a pleasant warm feeling in his chest. Which made him hungry. He checked to make sure he still had his cash and was happy to see he did. He saw a diner and thought that some meat would really hit the spot.
He was almost at the door when he heard the screaming. With a sigh he turned towards the noise and saw a small human female (he could tell the difference real easy these days unlike at first! He was practically an alien expert!) being accosted by some sort of wanna be rough neck Twileks. Really, who ever heard a thug Twilek? Something new everyday.
Dewaddik didn't really want to be involved but... Well Mom would never forgive him. He moved in with a grunting roar of warning. He had like 150 pounds on the Twilek there was no need to be unsporting. The Twilek and his face went pale as he saw a full grown healthy male wookie in all his furry screaming glory bearing down on him. Perhaps panicking he pulled a knife and held in front of him.
Dewaddik broke that arm first.
Tired of throwing people he instead punched the Twilek in the chest. Dewaddik winced a bit at the sound of bones snapping like dry wood has the Twilek flew back into a garbage heap... Ooops.
Dewaddik looked down on the small human female and figured she couldn't be full grown, despite being... How did Zyke put it? Developed.
The girl smiled and began to say something but they were interupted.
"Hey! What did you do to my cousin you overgrown rug!?!" Dewaddki turned and saw a good dozen Twilek toughs glaring at him. He groaned, he had just been looking for some dinner!

The Silver Spire occupies the top of one of the tallest towers in the Senatorial District. The dining area is three stories tall and sprawls out onto terraces surrounded with an atmospheric shield that allows for perfect control of the dining area's environment. It isn't the most expensive or most prestigious restaurant on Coruscant but it was the most famous high class eating establishment on the Republic's Capital.
A solemnly dressed human accompanied by a gold protocol droid met them as they arrived and escorted them to a table where a portly man in conservative evening dress was sitting. He looked up at them and smiled.

The lead Twilek drew a knife with a six inch blade. Several of his friends slipped on durasteel knuckle dusters or withdrew short batons from under their coats. "Her furball, I'm talking to you."

"Hello, Uncle! It's so good to see you in person," Trys beamed, crossing over to lean down and give the elder man a hug. Straightening up, she politely made re-introductions. "You remember Zyke Sana, my wingman and backup? And my newest crewmember, my cousin Kelran. I understand you've sent a little work his way as well."

Kelran waited for Trys to seat herself before sitting down. "Neilus, always a pleasure." He said, reaching over to shake his hand.

"Likewise, Padawan Asarak." Riv smirked just a little.Comrade Tortoise wrote:Asarak raised his own eyebrow in a combination of curiosity and thankfullness. He would definitely need the help of a peer if he was going to get back into the swing of things, as well as unlearn bad habits.
"I am not sure in this case the phrase applies. However it is a pleasure to meet you, and I look forward to working with you."
The Shistavanen bowed to the Hortek as a greeting. "I am sure this will be an important learning experience for the both of us."

Zyke smiled and bowed his head slightly as he was introduced. "I hope you're doing well, sir." His hand came up a little too quickly for a handshake, he was used to dealing with officers, not senators, and even after all his time out of the military, some habits were hard to break. He noticed the protocol droid and kept quiet. He knew they were all the rage with the upper class, but he never saw a use for them. Even as translators, they always tended to have rather prissy personalities. Whenever one was around, he would usually let Ermey speak his mind rather vocally. Watching a protocol droid become speechless was always an amusing sight.

Furball! Why that miserable tail headed son of a bitch! Miserable son of a bitch with a dozen buddies... Armed Buddies. Dewaddik was bigger, stronger and tougher but he wasn't invulnerable. He also wasn't a moron, morons don't survive wars against the Sith. The lead Twilek drew a knife with a six inch blade. Several of his friends slipped on durasteel knuckle dusters or withdrew short batons from under their coats. "Her furball, I'm talking to you."
He roared at the Twileks annnndd grabbed up the human female and ran for his life!
He was a wookie if he could find someplace where he could climb he could negate the numbers damage pretty quickly he felt.
