Yep, that's basically what I was referring to. Classic. I'll post the link in Testing.

Alright, what next?

Allen, are we gonna have the Archmage do more stuff, or am I in the clear to move on with the show?

Jon, your in the clear to move on with the show....

the Archmage is just piddling around, making sure chaos is sown, for when he decides to Ascend to his throne...

also, something I found, which is interesting to me...

concerning the Middle Earth Elves....
When they're raped, elves die, according to Tolkien's footnote to this sentence. The footnote also overlaps with why elves don't have adultery:

"Among all these evils there is no record of any among the Elves that took another's spouse by force; for this was wholly against their nature, and one so forced would have rejected bodily life and passed to Mandos. Guile or trickery in this matter was scarcely possible…for the Eldar can read at once in the eyes and voice of another whether they be wed or unwed." (LACE footnote 5)
- begins to plot bad things for Aimwen or Galadriel-

"Then again, Detective....how often have you dreamed of hearing your father's voice once more? Of feeling your mother's touch?" - Ra's Al Ghul

Well, Amiwen's a Maiar, not an Elf. Just so you know. But anyway, yeah, I'll move things on now.

Alright, I've got us setting off on the Aurora. Just to note, a little bit of time (say, a week or two) is going to have passed since they confronted the Archmage. So, who all is going on this trip? Are all the Alliance leaders going, or are some going to remain behind to hold the fort?

Also, I'm still unsure about what I'm going to do with the Fearless for now. But a thought, I'm going to have them basically alone for a good while, before possibly running back into the Alliance leaders at some point in the future.

By the way, folks, I have invited Dartzap (maybe as Flotsam, or Detritus?) to join us aboard the Aurora. Now I understand there's continuity issues and such, but remember: while it wasn't mentioned that Flotsam (or Detritus) was around when the Alliance leaders were boarding the Aurora, it wasn't mentioned that he was NOT around either, so we can pretend he's been around off-screen.

And Leia's a bitch.

Leia is awesome, dude. Just admit it.

Anyway, was that subtle enough? It also seemed to fit in her "no-nonsense" characterization.

You might ask where am I going with the mirror universe? The agonizer for the Guardians, I hope!

Yup. By the way, I guess now we have two locations simultaneously.

(1) the parallel universe, where the free Destructionators and the HIMS Fearless are travelling. They're travelling together, ain't they? Jon? Adam? Are you two both playing on the same place?

(2) The mysterious planet which location is 'extracted' from Khardem, where the Alliance Leaders (Darth Kreshna, Ra, Galadriel, Lord Adam, and Commander Flotsam (or Lord Detritus?) ) were just rescuing the Chieftain's daughter in the forest, and then suddenly realize they're not in Kansas anymore. Allen, what Lovecraftian horror you prepare for us? Usually in STGOD we are exchaging laser fire from starships. How about using fear as your weapon?

Uh, the Fearless hasn't found the Free Destructionators yet, actually. But yeah, we will. And then what happens? Only time can tell.

But no, we are not playing the same thing. Our little adventures kinda diverged, so I'll be meeting the Destructionators, and Adam will be doing... something with the Mirror-A'millians.

Yup, I wonder what Allen will post. Maybe the Archmagus will make the Alliance go crazy? So the Alliance leaders will be slowly overwhelmed by some unspeakable fear, then they will start turning against each other? Ia, Ia!! Shub-Niggurath!!

Have we painted ourselves into a corner here?

See, this feels like Sacrifice of Angels, from Deep Space Nine. The huge buildup and everything, and then there's no humanly possible way to beat the bad guys, so the writers are forced to have to have the DXM copout with the Prophets.

First of all, where are we, how did we get there, and how do we get out? Ya'll can say it OOC, I won't do something completely stupid like implement it right away. IC, the characters still don't have any fracking clue as to how to escape.

Adam's solution, which I liked, was to fight the bad guys to get out. Clean, simple, action-packed. But now we have the unsurmountable "kill a baddie hurt DK" problem, and a powerful dragon to deal with, which could kill us all. And while Ra and Leia would LOVE to do apeshit on the gnomes and kill him off, that would be so sudden and be complete betrayal at that point, which I'm not wanting to do.

Although one must admit, if the Phoenix-Incarnate is killed, the war is over. Archy doens't get his thing, and the Guardians go back to Yog Sothoth, or wherever.

Thoughts?

See, that's the problem I presented. I mean, it will be simply too easy if we defeat every enemy using brute force. So I guess the party need to be more cunning.

And by the way, killing the gnome-spiders itself is not an easy process.

Well, problem is, I'm outta ideas. Thus why I posted. I don't KNOW how to escape, besides applying a... strategy... that General once famously said.

I forgot the exact quote, but it was something like "My left is collapsing, my right is losing ground, my center is retreating. Situation normal; I'm attacking."

In other words...

Seriously, my only guess is to run away, and hope someone gets us outta here. Now I wish Tank had been on the Aurora crew.
And by the way, killing the gnome-spiders itself is not an easy process.
Obviously. And god help us if Allen starts sending Sword Driders after us.

Well the Aurora can't reach the party even though it is directly above them. The party is on different... plane of existence, remember?

IIRC I also remember the novel Indiana Jones and the Interior World (sic?), where there's a place which act as 'gate' between the Earth and the Inner Earth. The 'gate' is not tangible, by the way; you enter a forest and soon you're in the Inner Earth.

Yup. I hope there will be more of 'psychological' terror though (like in Lovecraft), where members of the party will get hallucinated and such.

By the way, because DK is incapacitated, then there will be no easy solution as he ignites the Phoenix Aura, flies to the sky, and fight the dragon himself!

Yeah, well how did Indy get out? And back to the task at hand, how do WE get out?!

Also, re: the dragon, those fuckers are extremely powerful, not just in strength and burnination, but also in magical power. Hell, the dragon of Morgoth (I forgot its name) was able to pwn the Elves like crazy. Not the pussy Third Age Elves, either. The Eldar of Beleriand were far more powerful (magically), and numerous.

My point, the party is fucked. Royally.

Bah, the Phoenix can royally fuck the dragon, for that matter. We're talking about a being which consumes a start at whim.

But of course, now the host (Darth Kreshna) is incapacitated.....

My plan is simple: run like hell.

There is a lake where the town was; we can flee to the water and at least have a moat. And hopefully there will be some evil overlord there we can kill.

the only reason I loved it so much Jon, was because it was Galadrial Wanking.

Be creative, just don't wank the character out to unbeleivable levels (this coming from the guy whose playing a Archmage who creates and extinguishes Universes regularly).

I try to post, but can't. It is called green queue: where as soon as one call is finished, you are bumped into the next one with not even a seconds respite. Fucking 30 calls waiting with 4 of us on the phones.

Oi, here's the plan. We're going to be brought before the High Priestess, though most certainly not willingly.

Allen can play the Priestess, I'm thinking. She's a High Priestess of Lolth, the Drow spider goddess. Brizual, on the other hand, is just a regular priestess of Eilistraee, the Drow moon goddess. But we also have the *restored* Galadriel, Amiwen, and the Lord and Lady, so things might be more evened out. Oh, we might could also give the High Priestess a mind flayer "adviser", as well as a few male Drow warriors that she uses for cannon fodder.

But all of this said, I don't want to be in any hurry to get this confrontation underway. We could do a whole shitload of adventuring in the Drow city. Let's make it mysterious! Strange! Not more of the usual Shog-butchering. Brizual's gonna lead us on some kind of little side quest, finding some neat Guardian Maiar-era artefacts and other things. Hell, maybe even a labyrinth full of dead bodies! MUAHAHAHAHA!

All of that adventuring will factor into the adventure after the High Priestess is defeated; what I call the "Sword Quest". But I won't spoil that ATM.

I'm just giving everyone a head's up.
