The CT Scan showed a blood clot in one of the veins leading from his intestinal tract. This is the source of the abdominal pains he's been suffering for the last 2 weeks. The doctors have him resting in a private room and have prescribed anti-coagulants for the time being. There is a remote chance he may have to have an angioplasy to remove the clot, but at this time it is unnecessary.
He is (mostly) comfortable, with a good supply of books to read as well as cable TV. He will be there for at least 3-4 days, although the doctors have not confirmed an exact number. They are going to be focusing on finding out why a young man nearly 24yrs old is suffering from blood clots of this nature.
At this time, that's all I know. I'm more than a little worried, but there's little I can do other than attempt to keep his spirits up. The real problem will be keeping up mine as well.
More info as I hear it.
