"This way," Ellen said. "I'm sensing something nearby."

"What is it?" Morfindel inquired.

"I feel something ahead, like many terrified people," Ellen said in concern. "And there's-"

"A power," said Galadriel. "I sense it also. Come!"

Advancing, the group went down a long hallway, eventually coming to a large, dark room. Several people were gathered around a strange object in the center, which seemed to radiate with dark power.

"What is that?" Ra inquired.

"It's some kind of seeing stone," said Galadriel. "The power over their minds is radiating from it."

"COME FORWARD, MY BRETHEREN, AND EMBRACE YOUR GOD!" a fanatic shouted, raising his hands high. "SALVATION COMES THROUGH SERVICE TO THE UNSPEAKABLE ONE!"

The man didn't seem to notice the new arrivals, and kept on preaching, as the gathered people chanted something in an ancient, foul tongue.

"We have to stop this!" Ellen shivered.

"Why not?" said Morfindel. Drawing two pistols, he opened fire, dropping the fanatic easily. None from the group even noticed.

"So much for remaining stealthy," Ra muttered, flicking on his Goa'uld forcefield.

Taurandir finally caught up with his friends in the cultists' temple, only to see the fight raging without him. He leapt from the shadows and delivered a kick to one of the cultists while yelling out, "Hey, having fun without me?!"

"Quickly, dispose of the seeing stone," Galadriel stated.

"I don't think you want to do that," the same gravely voice answered.

The group turned around, only to see the priest once again.

"What was that expression you taught me earlier, Ellen?" asked Morfindel.

"The shit hits the fan?" she answered in terror.

"Yes. The shit has hit the fan," the ranger sighed.

"Aren't fans those wide wavy things which geishas use to cool themselves?" Taurandir asked as he kicked another cultist out of the way, "And what are you going to do, priest?"

"I'm going to destroy you," he stated flatly. And with that, he made a swift motion, firing off a bolt of lightnight.

With impossible speed, Galadriel had her lightsabre out, absorbing the arc of electricity.

"Runes!" Ellen shouted. She hastily tapped the runes scribed to her arm, activating buffing magicks and a shield against magical and gun attack. The others did the same, and took up positions. The priest only laughed, adjusting his black tunic.

Demika made a motion with her hands, shooting forth several blue orbs of energy. The impacts caused the man to stumble back, but his unholy power seemed to absorb them.

Galadriel then extended a hand forward, and speaking a word of power, caused a bright orb of white light to hit the priest. He flinched, but was yet unfazed.

The priest then quickly let out the booming words of a spell, shooting forth a blast of flame. The entire group was thrown backwards, down to the floor. As they recovered, the priest made motions with his finger in mid-air, leaving a hovering, glowing pattern of a magical rune. He then activated it, causing Galadriel's lightsabre to fly from her hand, and right into his.

Morfindel scowled, and aimed his pistols, emptying the clips at the priest. Each round stopped in mid-air, just short of the posessed priest, and fell harmlessly to the ground.

Demika then spoke the words of a spell, suddenly causing her form to become blue and transparent. Quickly following up, she spoke another spell, firing off a sphere of energy. It caused the priest to flinch.

Ellen then extended her hands, and speaking a word of power, lashed forth arcs of electricity. These impacted the priest, causing him to fall to his feet in pain. Scribing in the air, the motions leaving behind a glowing magical runic pattern, Ellen blasted the priest with a ball of fire.

But it did little to stop the posessed man. Speaking his own word of power, a wave of energy went out, sending Ellen flying to the far wall. Galadriel attempted to fire off Force lightning, but it was too late; with a motion of his hands, another magical barrier stopped the attack. The priest was indeed incredibly powerful.

Taurandir also attacked, landing several martial blows to the priest. However, Galadriel's lightsabre was more than enough to make his attack difficult at best; more time was spent dodging his attacks than sending blows in return.

"This is going downhill fast," Ellen said, struggling back to her feet.

Taurandir stepped back for a second, and concentrated, suddenly a blade of psionic energy shot forth from his forearm. It shimmered, and was an ectoplasmic green in colour, "Time to step it up a notch," he said grimly and then parried Galadriel's lightsabre, attacking back with a growl, but he still wasn't powerful enough to match the priest, it seemed that he'd merely switched parrying for dodging.

Demika spoke the words of another spell, causing several copies of herself to appear in various places. Following up, she spoke another spell, causing a ball of flame to leap from her hands, blasting the priest back a few inches.

Ellen rose to her feet, and prepared to cast another spell. Galadriel suddenly turned to her, and said, "The crystal!"

A ghostly shriek, as if sourced from the extradimensional, pierced the air, but it seemed to fade like a mere wheeze. It seemed to warble between loud and quiet for a few seconds as flashes of light eventually showed the shape of a tall box with a winking siren light at the top of it. The whole thing lasted all of three seconds, but those three seconds were enough for the Police Box of a TARDIS to have appeared in the room finally.

The Eleventh Doctor leaned out of the box and into the room, taking note of the massive fight between the two forces, "Get in, you can't win this fight!"

Galadriel had seen the mage's power, and did not doubt the new arrival. With a flick of her wrist, Galadriel caused her lightsabre to fly back into her elegant fingers, before saying, "Come on!"

Everyone filed inside the TARDIS, save Ellen, who focused magical power, attacking the crystalline orb with a blast of electricity. To her horror, it was no use.

"Ellen!" Demika shouted, grabbing her under the arm, and pulling the half-elf inside.

The priest only watched silently, finally telling the tiefling, "You're wise to flee, Outsider. But you cannot flee forever. Soon, the Unspeakable One's power shall grow ever faster, and consume not this mere planet, but the entire galaxy. Beyond that, the universe. Demonchild, this is only the beginning!"

"Then with all the might that is in my tainted blood, I shall oppose you, and your god, Mystra be praised. Another day..." Demika said, before closing the door to the police box.

"We're ready to go," the Doctor said, manipulating controls and flipping switches on the TARDIS' main console, "I'd say to go and make yourselves at home, but the trip'll only be a minute."

"Excuse me," Taurandir spoke up, "who are you and where is the Doctor, this is his possession is it not?"

"An excellent question," said Galadriel. "We must speak with him immediately."

"Something ain't right here," Ra mumbled.

"We must get to London, and without delay," Galadriel sighed. "There is someone there we must meet."

Quo'nos One is starting to regain control when the sound from the TV is drowned out by an appering TARDIS, right between the Trekkies and their precious tube.

"Down in fucking front asshole!" an annoyed Lord Adam yells at the TARDIS.

"Hello there," the Ninth Doctor stepped out, straightening his leather jacket, "I'm sorry for my successor earlier, he's a bit more hamfisted than me when it comes to matters like this; what I think you lack is sufficient proof, since I think that you know thoughts can be forged, so I'm here to show you the most irrefutable evidence imaginable." He grinned, "I've got a Time Travelling Box stood behind me and it's time to take it to the apex of this conflict, what do you say?"

"Sheilds keptin?" Chekov's voice booms out of the surround sound.

"Captian, our shields!" Valeris insists.

An annoyed Lord Adam looks up at the ninth Doctor, then back at the Lady.

"We surrender!" the desperate voice of Captian James T. Kirk booms through the speakers.

"Ugh, fine. This had better not take long." He gets up, stops the tape, then enters the TARDIS with the Doctor and the Lady at his side.

"I wonder what THIS button does?" Ra askes, his finger lingering near a large red button.

"FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS, don't touch that button!" Demika yelled.

Ra blinked, and said, "Uh, planar travelling accident?"

"You could say that!" the tiefling laughed.

"Regeneration?" Ellen snidely asked, completely unconvinced. "What are you talking about?"

"Apparently, these... Timelords... regenerate when they die," Morfindel stated. "They never achieved actual immortality like the Elves, so they just are reborn."

"And how in the hells did you find that out?" inquired Ellen, leaning against a bulkhead.

Morfindel held up a book, and said, "Timelords for Dummies."

"They probably have everything "for Dummies"," the half-elf chuckled.

"System Lords for Dummies?" Ra shouted, picking up a book. "What the flying fuck?!"

"Care to go into further detail about this... regeneration, hon?" Demika asked the Doctor. "Sounds intriguing."

"If you ask me, love, I'm just eager to get on with the quest," Morfindel smirked.

"No, no, please go on, Doc," Demika urged. "We've got some time, and my feet hurt. I'm not getting out of this chair until he finishes, and we travel to this... London."

"My tiefling, would you like a massage?" Morfindel asked.

"Oh definitely, dear," Demika smiled.

Taurandir adjusted his monk robes, and spat, "Get a room, you two!"

"An excellent question," said Galadriel. "We must speak with him immediately."
"I am the Doctor," he replied as he began manipulating the TARDIS controls and the centre time rotor began spinning, "I had a change of face is all."
"Something ain't right here," Ra mumbled.
"Oh, it's perfectly normal for me to change face occasionally," he said, "it happens when I get overly ill or injured, and I change drastically in both appearance and personality; but I still retain some of the same traits."
"We must get to London, and without delay," Galadriel sighed. "There is someone there we must meet."

"Not that you could actually activate anything with it," the Doctor spoke up, "you need a rassilon imprinteur to even use the TARDIS; but I would prefer it if you did not somewhow cause me to undergo yet another regeneration."

"I have a full archive downstairs of pretty much anything and everything, I've memorised it all," the Doctor said, "but not all of my forms have eidetic memories; I was searching for information on this Nyarthalotep." The Doctor couldn't help but wonder whether he'd pronounced that right, it was a very confusing language that they used.

London."
"Just give me a second to stabilise our course to London, this device doesn't quite work on linear time."
"My tiefling, would you like a massage?" Morfindel asked.

"Oh definitely, dear," Demika smiled.

Taurandir adjusted his monk robes, and spat, "Get a room, you two!"
The Doctor finished inputting coordinates in both space and time, "Well, if you must know, regeneration is the Timelord way of cheating death, we were already immortal... barring accidents... but we weren't happy with the fact that we could die from 'accidents', so we invented Regeneration, making it almost impossible for us to die."

"Almost?" Taurandir asked, cocking an eyebrow.

"We're only allowed twelve 'chances', so I can only take on thirteen forms," the Doctor replied, "and I'm slowly running out of time, this is my eleventh."

"So, these Timelords," Morfindel said, "you make them sound like a species, rather than a profession."

"They are," the Doctor said, "or at least they were, Timelord is more of a profession, but it was a 'Gallifreyans only' club... but it's theoretically possible that with a bit of genetic manipulation, a human or elf could become a Timelord as most of the specific Timelord traits are mostly technological in nature."

"Fantastic!" the Ninth Doctor exclaimed, "Just let me fire up the TARDIS and aim for the right place and time." He began doing so, pressing buttons and aiming the TARDIS for the future, "Let's see... two months into the future, shall we?"

The TARDIS' central rotor began moving, and the TARDIS vanished from the palace, leaving the TV and Star Trek VI behind them. It reappears, not two months later, in orbit of the same planet. "Now look at the viewscreen in the other room, Adam, and tell me what's left of your planet."

Big Ben greeted the group as they filed out of the TARDIS. It announced the time, 1:00 AM. The streets were mostly abandoned, save a drunken chav lying on a bus bench, who didn't notice the menagery pass.

"So, where is this person we're looking for, and who is he?" Ra inquired.

"From what I saw, the person's name is Diess," Demika intoned.

"Correct," the Doctor nodded. "I'll lead you right to him."

Ra sighed, "Just amazes me that Granny Glads here- OOF!"

His words were cut off by Galadriel hitting him in the stomach.

"GALADRIEL, here, saw some dude in a vision, and we automatically know who he is, and where he lives?" Ra finished.

"You doubt my gift of foresight, young one?" Galadriel inquired.

"I doubt it when you use vague descriptors like 'someone' and 'some planet thataway', if I may be frank," the Goa'uld sneered.

"And in all this time I had expected we had built a trust together, foolish Goa'uld," the elf continued.

"Trust, yes, I trust you," Ra huffed. "But I still want to know what the hell we're doing. Is that too much to ask from you?"

"It is not," Galadriel smiled. "There is another exile here, and as young Demika said, his name is Diess. Also, there is another, of a race who has also been... displaced in this plane, named Verishah. I would go to her once we have spoken with Diess."

"All I'm worried about is that we're so busy gathering allies, and going nowhere," Ra continued. "We got our asses handed to us by that cultist. I don't like that. I don't like to lose."

"Simply put, dear, you may have to face the reality of loss," Demika added. "As much as that may tarnish your ego, no offense. Not every battle can be won, though I always seem to pull victory from the jaws of defeat in the end."

"Defeating the Unholy menace is what we are trying to do," Galadriel reminded everyone. "Gathering of allies, small and great, and finding His weaknesses will take time. And He already knows of our plan."

"What makes you think that, my lady?" inquired Morfindel.

"Insight," she answered. "He knows of our efforts in New York, and of our attempts to gather allies. Fortunately, he doesn't percieve us as a threat."

"Yet," Demika added. "Once he does, he'll come down on us like an angry dragon."

"Or worse," Taurandir grimly added.

Finally, the Doctor led them to the proper location. The group would just have to see what help Diess could offer.

Diess looked up as the strangest group of people he'd ever seen walked into the bar, the knife missile hovering calmly by his side. "What's going on here?" he mumbled to himself.

====

"Well, this is where I scanned for that Diess gentleman of yours," the Doctor said, "I knew how to find him because he'd be travelling with higher technology than the rest of the world; that's a Culture name you know, I wonder if he's Special Circumstances."

"What's this 'Culture'?" Taurandir asked.

"A high-tech spacefaring group which rarely interferes with Earth matters, though they have done before," the Doctor gestured to the man with a curiously wary expresion on his face in the corner of the bar, "that's him, the guy with the floating knife."

"Nice knife," Ra stated.

"Well met," Galadriel greeted. She dispised having to lie, but in the public bar, she knew that secrecy was paramount. "I am the Lady Herdis Siegreth. These are ever my allies and friends; Yousef Al-Hassan, Valentin and Amelia Kalenda, Marius Tirlea, and Ellen Regner."

"And what business does your little group have with me?" asked Diess.

"Put simply," Ellen sighed, "We need your help."

"Then, have a seat. I'm listening," he answered.

"Surely you know of the situation here on this planet," Galadriel continued.

"And what would that be?" he smirked.

"Let's cut to the chase, shall we?" Ra snidely interjected. "I'm from another planet, you're from another planet. The only person here that ain't is Ellen."

"Right to the point," he nodded.

"As you surely know, the universe is in chaos. We must find a way to stop the entity behind this," Galadriel continued. "It shall not be easy, but regardless, He must be opposed. Least of all, so that all of us may return whence we came."

"Well," Diess replied, "I was already here to do that, I came willingly as an agent of..."

"...Special Circumstances," the Doctor finished with a grin, "now we'd best be off." He turned, taking out the TARDIS Key and summoning the police box into the bar itself, "Now, 'Lady Herdis', I have a sneaking suspicion that the next person we need help from hasn't been born yet, so what year are we going to?"

"Year?!" the Special Circumstances officer was astonished to hear talk of time travel, and then he glanced at the police box which had appeared in the corner, "That's a TARDIS! the Timelords have gotten involved?!"

"There's only me," the Doctor lied, his other regenerations were out and about in places, but he wasn't about to mention his earlier screwing with the timeline, "now I'll need a year and place, Galadriel."

Galadriel pondered for a moment, and looked deeper, searching for more insight. She then said, "2290, the city of Sheram'kal, on Halne. I can provide proper coordinates on your starmaps, should you need them."

"That's all I needed to know," he said, "the TARDIS has maps of everywhere and everything, and I've visited Halne before, it's a nice place..." he grinned, "everyone in the TARDIS and hope we don't have a timing malfunction."

"A what?!" Demika practically snarled, "What in all the depths of Baator do you mean by timing malfunction?"

"We travel to the wrong era, the TARDIS isn't as accurate as I'd like it to be."

"Excellent, Timelord," Diess glared, "if you send us to the wrong era, I'll fucking throttle you so much that you can't regenerate."

"Now, now Diess," the Timelord replied, "it's an easy enough problem to fix if we do get lost in time."

"Freyr help us now," Ellen sighed, closing the TARDIS door. She was virtually afraid to open her eyes now.

"Well, you can open your eyes now, we're here," the Timelord stated.

"In the right place and time, or are we somewhere east of the Demonweb Pits, five billion years ago?" Demika teased.

Ellen slid the door open, almost afraid to see what was beyond. Her eyes then went wide at the sight of a sparkling blue ocean extending towards a blue sky, the faint outlines of two moons overhead.

"No, we're in the right place," the Doctor reassured them.

"What about the time?" Morfindel prodded.

"YES, the right time!" the Timelord fussed.

Ellen slowly stepped outside, onto an ivory platform. Not far away were smooth railings. Wherever Galadriel had sent them, they were atop a flat platform, like a plaza. Glancing behind, Ellen spotted several buildings, their faces covered with large glass windows.

Demika and Morfindel stepped out, glancing around at the scenery themselves. The wind was cool, blowing in the scent of ocean mist with it. In the distance, the city of Sheram'khal towered up into the sky, built around the base of a long-extinct volcano. The volcanic basic itself was near the end of a chain of islands, and was far enough south to ensure that cooler weather was the order of the day.

"Now I know where we need to go for our next vacation," Morfindel smiled.

"Oh, absolutely," Demika chimed. "The weather is just fabulous."

Swiftly, a woman in a white uniform walked up. From the weapon holstered at her side, she was clearly a policewoman. The Doctor switched on a universal translator.

"Yalisar," she greeted, bowing her head slightly. "Would you please tell me why you're here, travellers?"

"I am the Lady Galadriel," the elven queen announced.

"And I'm Ra," the Goa'uld nodded.

"We need to visit a woman by the name of Verishah," Galadriel stated.

"I wouldn't know who that is," the Sanet woman confessed. She then kindly smiled, and said, "All I needed was to know your intent. A good day to you, de Valai.

The officer walked off, briefly casting an unsure glance at the TARDIS sitting on the plaza.

"I suspect your TARDIS is a bit out of place, Doctor," Demika smirked.

"So it is," he chuckled.

"We should head to the Aldar'al Scientific Ministry," Galadriel said. "There shall we find our newest ally in this cause."

"Lemme guess, it's on the other side of town," Ra sighed.

Galadriel then pointed to a building in the distance, not too far away.

"Can you walk a thousand feet, young one?" she smiled.

"Anyone can make it a thousand feet away," the Doctor said, "I've lived for nine hundred years, possibly longer, but I lost count."

"You lost count of your own age?" Diess cocked an eyebrow.

"And you had yourself altered so you can have an hour long orgasm... we're all odd people," the Doctor chuckled as they set off walking, "I've been to this academy before... or was it much later than now?" He chuckled, "Well they did say that they'd heard of someone who just went by 'the Doctor' before."

They approached the Ministry finally, "Well here we are," he grinned, "Home of some of the greatest Sanet Academic Minds ever to have existed."

The main lobby of the Science Ministry was vast, and well-lit. Various people walked back and forth, going about their business. Galadriel led the group to a lift, which swiftly arrived at the floor she had indicated. Ellen couldn't tell what floor they were on, due to the fact that everything was displayed in alien runes.

Exiting the lift, the group then went to the door to a nondescript office. Just as Ra was about to hit the door chime, it slid open, revealing a small woman in a gray suit.

"Yalisar," she smiled warmly. "You're... looking for me, my friends?"

She must be some psychic, Ra remarked in his mind.

Immediately, the woman laughed slightly. Ra could only raise an eyebrow.

"Yes, we seek your help, Verishah," Galadriel said.

"I would normally tell you that we're extremely busy at the moment, but it's clear that you're on Halne for the same reason," Verishah said, offering them to come inside. "Our... entire civilization has been displaced somehow, and I hope you can help us shed some light on the matter."

"I believe we can," Galadriel said, "But you should brace yourself for what I'm about to say."

Verishah regarded her for a moment, and then said, "Yes... someone did this. I can see that much in your expression."

Galadriel nodded, and explained the entire thing to the Sanet scientist. She listened intently, not overlooking any detail.

"Halne is not the only planet displaced by Nyarlathotep's act," Galadriel then concluded. "The Earth of this galaxy is gone, replaced by one from a universe seperate from either of ours. Ellen, here, hails from that Earth."

"Then the dimensional damage is far greater than we had first feared," Verishah sighed. "We had already resigned that there would be no way to undo this damage. It had become immediately clear that something was wrong when all contact with the Kiir Coalition had ceased. Our ships were dispatched, only to find there was no Kiir civilization; it was simply gone, replaced by various worlds inhabited by primitive societies of humans, of all people."

"Oh, you guys must have stumbled into my territory," Ra snickered.

"What else do you know, Verishah?" Galadriel inquired.

"We spotted a... center of titanic spatial disturbance on the very fringe of our space," Verishah continued. "We have a ship watching it for any possible expansion. I've come up with a theory that we might could use our ships' drives to contain the breakout, whatever it is."

"If it's what I believe it is, then you should not try, friend," Galadriel said. "If it wishes to expand, it will. But we should look at this disturbance."

"Do you know what it is, de Valai?" Verishah asked, concern coming onto her face.

"Yes, it was seen before. The late Darth Kreshna and his wife first discovered it, outside this galaxy," Galadriel continued. "We only know of it as the 'Center of Chaos'."

"If you wish, I can summon a shuttle to take you out to the ship," Verishah said. "I'll accompany you."

"I believe we can get to the ship on our own, but your presence is most welcome," Galadriel smiled.

"Very well then, shall we be off?" Verishah grinned.

"Yes," the Doctor piped up cheerfully, "we shall indeed be off, finally." He raised the TARDIS key, pressing a button and causing the Police Box to materalise in the centre of the lobby, "Let's get back to Earth, 21st Century, right where we left off..."
