"No other questions I see. Good enough. We should make planet fall within three days, or rather you will make planet fall. I have other business. Quarters have been prepared for you."
With that Alexandra lead the acolytes to a nearby section of state rooms. While not luxurious, they were well furnished, spacious, and comfortable.

Quint closed his eyes for a few seconds once they were in the state rooms, and his demeanor changed just ever so slightly. The Arbitrator took a seat on one of the couches and leaned his head back until he was staring at the cieling. "Fervidus... feudal world. Emperor damned backwards planets. I'm gonna need to study up some then."
Quint ordered a small meal as well as a collection of what information was available about Fervidus, trying to absorb as much as he could.

She had three days, plus whatever time she had onboard the ship. She had also just been paid 70 Thrones, a suitable amount for the moment. As she considered her plans, she shuffled the deck of plain playing cards to relax and help herself think. These were not the Emperor's Tarot, but a simple deck that she and her fellow students had used to play blackjack, poker, and 'guess the card' games.
She stopped shuffling, drawing and laying three cards down on the table. "Two of Diamonds: An increase in prosperity ... at a price. Be prudent in your dealings. Four of Spades: Luck comes from careful planning and foresight." She frowned at the last card. "Jack of Diamonds: An Aggressive young man ...."
After a moment, she reshuffled the cards back into the deck and stored it once again in her luggage. Then, she left her room and went looking for the gentleman who had been the only one to accept a drink from the Inquistitor. Zuriel, she thought. That was his name.....
She finally found his room, and knocked politely on the door.

Quint downloaded the information into his data-slate and mulled over it some more. That there was a presence of Arbitrators would be good. He could probably count on them for assistance. It also meant that when he started flashing his badge the ignorant savages would know what it meant. Quint slid his data-slate into a carrying bag and pocketed his payment, he was going to need some more ammunition for his gun or he'd have to start relying on their lousy muskets half-way through the mission.
Quint slipped a jacket on and stepped out of his room. Breathing the lovely processed air deeply.

Zuriel had been praying to the Emperor, his few meager possessions already set up about the quarters with delicate care. When the knock came, his hand had gone quite naturally to the holster carrying his autopistol. He stopped himself shy of drawing his weapon, but his hand remained near all the same. He got up and closed his books before opening the door. Before him was the odd woman who had been reading from cards earlier. He nodded respectfully and gave a cordial smile.
"Hello, how might I be of service to you this day, miss..." He trailed off, letting her fill in the blanks. Introductions had not quite been a part of the initial meeting.

She was a little encouraged that he let her inside, and she slipped in quietly. "I need to find places to purchase items for the trip," she answered, getting straight to her reason for seeking him out. "But I am not sure what best to buy."

Zuriel took note of the young woman in front of him with a raised eyebrow. She was...odd. He had suspicions about her origin, but she was a servant of the Emperor, and no Inquisitor would use employ any but the most righteous of the Emperor's Servants, especially not such a man as the one he met earlier. "Very well then. I had been meaning to purchase a few items myself. We shall set out to find if this ship has a dispensary of some sort, shall we?" He opened the door to his quarters again and motioned for Kyona to follow him.
"So, what is it that you hope to purchase before we reach our destination?" Zuriel's mind was already full of what manner of things he would put on his list. Ammunition, armor, weapons, all for when things came to blows. He did not hope for violence, but accepted it. If there were heretics, there was only one fate for them.

Kyona followed him out of his rooms, walking by his side as they went down the corridor. "I ...," she paused, thinking, looking down to her tattered robes. "... Garments, suitable for a servant of the Inquistor's rank. I have a las pistol, but only one charge packet for it," She looked up to Zuriel, trusting his opinion in this matter. "Should I buy another? And should I purchase .. armouring?"

There was no need for him to ask any questions, he had already heard most of what interested him. When he along with the others was led to where they would be housed until their arrival he prepared himself for the worst and was rather surprised at the proposed quarters. They were far better than what he was used to which suited him just fine. His eyes slid over his surroundings until he found a spot that he thought was more than adequate for his needs. He approached it, dropped his backpack on the bed and began the process of getting ready for an extended period of time.
He took the time to ask for planetary information on the world they were going to visit and poured over the data. As he did so, he considered the thrones that he had been granted and considered what items would be best suited for his coming journey. Those in his craft were well aware that a situation never turned out quite like expected.

The corridors in the guest quarters were mostly empty, but there were two crewmen in crisp blue uniforms and white face paint standing rigidly at attention at heavy door at the end of the section. They bowed as the acolytes approached.

Zuriel respectfully nodded to the two men in uniforms and smiled to them. "Excuse me, but we are looking for a place to make some purchases. Clothing, weapons, armor, and the like," He waited for a response before returning his attention to Kyona.
"Some armor would be prudent. This vest," he tapped his chest, "has saved my life more times than I can count. I was thinking of getting a jacket, if I could, so if you wanted, I could save you some of the cost and let you have this. It has many good battles left to it, and should serve you well. As for the rest, well, ammunition is always useful to have, I've found."

The cards had suggested prudence in her dealings. The offer of a used-but-serviceable armored vest was a surprise, but one that would save her thrones for more important purchases. "You're very generous," she said with the first smile she'd shown so far. "Thank you, that would be a great help."

"The purser and the trading stations should be what you're looking for," said the spacer on the left. "You can find the trading stations near the launch bays and the nearest purser station is just three decks below."

"Thank you, my good man. I think we'll see the purser first," he finished as he turned back to Kyona. "My dear woman, we are going to be working together. It is in all of our best interests that we go about our duties with due vigilance, careful preparation, and the willingness to raze our enemies to the ground," A spark of fire flickered in his eyes towards the end as he gently caressed the hilt of his sword. He led the way to the purser's station, or at least attempted to. It was clear that navigation through a starship was not his forte.
"You'll have to forgive me my inexperience, but this is the first time I have set foot on one of these ships before. They're almost like a large building in some ways, but...odd. It's hard to imagine that right now we are travelling through the stars."

The purser's office in question was actually a small cargo hold, about thirty meters by thirty meters, converted into a store. Long metal racks and shelves held a host of supplies ranging from coveralls to jars of ploin juice to tool kits to planetary survey gear to weapons to vacuum gear. A grey haired main, undoubtedly a senior spacer, waited behind the counter.

"I try not to think of it myself," Kyona answered. There were too many classes in the Academy warning of the dangers of the Warp for her to feel fully comfortable traveling. "But it seems you have found the correct place." She looked around the converted store, her eyes wandering the shelves as Zuriel lead her within.

Zuriel pondered those words for a moment, not sure exactly what they meant. He decided that it was not worth thinking about in the long run, and instead focused on the selection of the purser's office, nodding respectfully to the man behind the counter. "Hello. My comrade and I are interested in some items. She is looking for some new clothes and some charge packs. I am looking for a new armored jacket, similar to this vest," He taps his own flak vest, "but with more coverage. Is there anything you would suggest?"

"Charge packs we have in abundance," said the spacer. "Underwear in all sizes, pants, shorts, shoes, boots, jackets, shirts, and jumpsuits. If you're looking for fancy, try the trading decks. If you're looking for armour jackets, we have a light one that covers neck to ankle and a shorter, heavier one."

"I will look over the clothing, as you decide on your purchase, Zuriel," Kyona said quietly. She was not looking for 'fancy', merely for something that was better than the student-pay rags she currently owned. Something feminine, something soft and silky, something that would make her feel pretty....

The clothing available here was purely practical. Tough, durable fabrics and clothing to wear on duty or exploring strange worlds. Warm jackets, tough pants, and cold weather gear were most definitely available. Frilly and feminine clothes were not.
